A refined lighting scheme for a private Ascot residence

Project Overview

This Ascot lighting project centred on the entrance and staircase volume of a private residence in Berkshire. The objective was to introduce a statement chandelier with enough scale to define the arrival sequence while respecting the classical detailing of the interior architecture.

The Design Brief

The residence required decorative lighting with presence, restraint and proportion. A conventional pendant would have disappeared in the stairwell; an overly heavy chandelier would have crowded the ceiling rose, balustrade and landing views. The specification needed to feel architectural, not theatrical.

Lighting Strategy

VORELLI selected a long-drop crystal chandelier to carry the height of the stairwell, create vertical rhythm and bring a polished focal point to the private residence. The darker upper detailing gives the fitting definition against pale walls, while the crystal elements introduce movement as the space is approached from the hallway and landing.

Materials & Finish Direction

The finish direction balances clear crystal, polished metal and quiet contrast. This allows the chandelier to complement the soft wall tones, ornamental mirror, white-painted joinery and period-influenced staircase detailing without overpowering the residence.

Final Result

The completed scheme gives the staircase a confident centre of gravity. The chandelier improves scale, light reflection and perceived value, creating an elegant private-residence lighting moment for a high-value Ascot interior.
